How to care for your Remy Hair extensions
The Cleaning Process:
It is best to hand wash your extensions since it is a delicate item. Hair extensions do not receive natural oils from your scalp like natural hair. Thus, it requires some extra care when washing to ensure to not dry them out. With proper care, Hair Extensions Can Become The Best Investment we have ever done for our hair.
1. We recommend washing your Mindflow extensions after every 7-10 wears. It is best to wash them in a container.
2. Swirl the extensions gently in a mixture of lukewarm water and your favorite shampoo. Be sure to hold the extensions by the clip tightly, finger combing through hair in the same direction to avoid any tangling.
3. Rinse and repeat with your favorite conditioner.
Pro tip: To help Maximize The Lifespan of Your Extensions, we recommend laying them flat on a large towel and leaving them to air dry.

Coloring Remy hair:
1. Choose a Color, and Gather Your Supplies:
Select a color from a professional hair color and developer line. A 10-volume developer or a demi-permanent color is best. After you've purchased your color and de
- Color bowl and brush
- Hair color gloves
- Tin foil
- Plastic wrap
- Wide-toothed comb
- Towel
2. Organize Your Workspace and Mix Color: Following the manufacturer's directions, prepare your color. Most color is made by mixing equal parts color and developer. You'll need approximately 3–5 ounces of prepared color for your extensions, but more color may be necessary depending on the length.
3. Apply the Color: Using gloved hands and a color brush, completely saturate each section of your hair extensions with the color solution. Be sure that the color completely coats both sides of your extensions, from their tops to the very ends. Start at the top of the extension (where the clips are located) moving downward to the ends, following the natural fall of the hair. Applying the color upwards could damage your extensions and will absolutely leave them frizzy and disheveled.
4. Process the Color: After you've applied color to each section of your extensions, loosely cover them with plastic wrap in order to prevent the color from drying out before it soaks in. Allow the color to process at standard room temperature for the amount of time specified on the manufacturer's directions—typically anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes.
Check a small section of the hair extensions every five to 10 minutes during the processing time by gently rubbing the color off the extension with a paper towel. Reapply the color with your color brush after checking and remember that hair color when wet appears darker than it does when dry. When the processing is complete and the color of your extensions is completely satisfactory (don't rush it), it's time to rinse out the hair. Fold your tin foil in half for simple transportation over to a sink.
5. Rinse: Rinse the color from your extensions using cool (not cold) water at low pressure, using your fingers to gently work the excess dye out. It's important that you allow the water to flow in the direction that the hair naturally falls. A truly thorough rinsing should take an absolute minimum of 15–20 minutes. Make sure you remove all the color; if you're not sure, keep rinsing. Follow up by shampooing your extensions with a mild, sulfate-free, moisturizing or color-safe shampoo. You don't want to dull the extensions down before you can wear them!
6. Comb and Allow to dry: After you're sure that your extensions are rinsed completely, lay a towel down on your workspace. Apply a leave-in conditioner to each section of your extensions and comb them gently with your wide-toothed comb. Finally, allow the extensions to air-dry thoroughly (don't use a blow-drier) before using or styling them, particularly if you use any kind of heat tools.
Choosing your hair products:
Step 1 – Determine your hair type: When it comes to choosing the right products, determining your hair type is absolutely essential for knowing which products would work best for your hair. In fact, many of your hair concerns or problems may stem from simply using the wrong products. By knowing your hair type, you can find the proper balance that your hair needs and end your bad hair days for good.
Here are the four factors that can help you determine what type of hair you actually have –
1. Texture. Take a strand of hair, press it in between your index finger and thumb. If you don’t really feel it, you have fine hair – more sensitive to damage and greasiness. If you can somewhat feel the hair, you have medium/normal texture. If the strand can be felt distinctly and is visibly thick, you have coarse hair texture – more prone to frizz and can be unruly frequently.
2. Shape. Your hair can be visibly straight, wavy, curly or coiled. These can depend on various factors, texture being a major one. Curly and wavy hair types are more prone to dryness and frizz, while straight hair is more prone to lacklustre and volume.
3. Porosity. This is the ability of your hair strands to absorb and retain moisture. The easiest way to determine it is to place a strand of your hair into a bowl of water and wait. If it sinks almost immediately, it has high porosity – more damaged due to gaps and tears in the cuticle. If it keeps floating on the surface, you have low porosity hair – cuticle lays flat, so moisture and products are harder to absorb. If the strand stays suspended in the middle, you have medium porosity – the ideal condition for sufficient moisture and product retention.
4. Scalp type. After normally cleansing your hair, let it air dry and do no apply any products. About 2-4 hours later, gently dab a blotting paper or tissue paper to the crown of your head. If it appears the same, you have a dry scalp – more prone to dullness, roughness, dandruff and frizz. If you see oily residue on the paper, you have an oily scalp – more prone to have hair that looks flat and greasy. If you see only a few traces of oil, you have a normal scalp – which means most products will work for you.
Step 2 – Finding the right products.
Now that you know what your hair is like, you should check out the best products that are designed and specially formulated to help you unravel your real hair in its natural form! Please note – regardless of your hair type, stay far away from Sulphate, Parabens, harsh chemicals and scents.
Pro tip: Invest into buying a Shower filter that’s changes the hard water showers in the UAE to hair safe soft water which will help reduce a lot of hair fall and product build up. When your hair dries, the chlorine will crystallize and grow in size overtime, weakening your hair and making it more susceptible to the formation of split ends. By removing chlorine and heavy metals you can prevent hair loss and restore your hair’s natural shine and texture. These shower filters and designed specifically for removing or reducing chlorine and water-soluble heavy metals. It controls scale, bacteria and algae, even in hot water.

Brush your Remy hair extension with care!
How to Brush Hair Extensions (Wet)
Step 1: Once washed and out of the shower, you need to gently squeeze the excess water from your hair extensions with a towel, making sure not to rub or scrub the hair, as not only will this raise the cuticle, but it could also encourage tangling and matting depending on the quality of your hair extensions.
Now the excess water has been squeezed out we can begin to brush.
Step 2: Pull your hair extensions to one side and hold the hair at the base of your neck in a low side-ponytail position. Securing your hair extensions in this way will reduce any tension or tugging on the hair extension bonds or weft track if you are wearing permanent hair extensions. If you have clip in hair extensions, gather the top of the clip into a bundle to form a ponytail as this will make the hair easier to brush. Starting from the bottom, using a wide tooth shower comb, slowly work through an inch at a time, working your way up the hair until you reach the top of the hair.
Step 3: Now that the bottom sections of the hair are tangle free, you can release the rest of the hair, slowly working your way up and stopping before the bonds. If you are combing through clip in hair extensions, you can work your way right up to the top of the clips.
Step 4: Once you reach the top, the larger knots should now have been removed, so it is time to now go in with a hair extension brush to work through some of the finer knots and to smooth the hair completely. Take your dual bristle hair extension brush and again working from the bottom to the top, slowly work your way up inch by inch, gently brushing through any tangles.
Step 5: If you are wearing permanent hair extensions, you can use your dual bristle brush right up and over the bonds. It will glide over without tugging and pulling on the bonds, but you must still work gently. IF you are brushing through clip in hair extensions then you can use your dual bristle brush to work right to the top of the set.
Top tip: Hair extensions are at their weakest when they are wet, so it is very important to brush your hair slowly and gently every time you wash your hair. Rushing will lead to damage, so make sure you are setting enough time aside to dedicate yourself to doing it correctly.
How To Brush Hair Extensions (Dry)
Step 1: Pull all of your hair extensions to one side, securing with your hand at the base of your neck to form a ponytail. Holding the hair in this way will allow you to brush the hair extensions without pulling on the bonds.
Step 2: Use a hair extension friendly brush, working from the bottom to the top inch by inch, not top to bottom. By starting at the tips of the hair and working your way up to the root, you are removing each tangle an inch at a time, rather than pulling the tangles all the way down the hair. This will prevent hair breakage, and if you are wearing permanent hair extensions such as pre bonded, micro rings or nano rings, this will reduce pulling and tugging on your hair extension bonds or weft.
Step 3: If you are wearing permanent hair extensions, once all tangles have been removed from your hair extensions, run your fingers in and around your bonds or weft track to make sure none have been moved or damaged whilst brushing. For more information on how to untangle hair extension bonds, click here.
Top Tip: Depending on the quality of your hair extensions, daily brushing may be very simple, with minimal tangling, however if the quality of your hair extensions is lower, then you may find your hair extensions regularly tangle together. If you have hair extensions that keep tangling together, carry a hair extension brush with you at all times.
Did you know…Hair extensions that become tangled often because of damage to the hair’s cuticle. By smoothing the hair cuticle with an oil-based treatment, you can help to reduce how much your hair extensions tangle, as well as increasing shiny and softness.
How to dry your remy hair extension
Washing your hair extensions is just the first part. In order to preserve the gorgeous look and extend the service life, you also need to dry your hair extensions the right way. How? Let’s take a look!
Drying them Naturally: If drying them Naturally, it is best to leave them over an open towel to dry. If you’re not a big fan of blow-drying and want to let your hair dry naturally, you can do that, to a certain extent. You will still have to use a blow-dryer to dry the roots of the hair and the points of attachment of your hair extensions.
Drying them quickly: All you have to do is use a good blow-dryer. However, be sure to use the medium-to-low temperature/power settings to avoid damage due to excessive heat. Your hair takes time to dry depending on the length, density, and thickness of your hair. Do not brush your hair extensions when they’re still wet to avoid breakage. Dry your hair first and then brush it thoroughly working your way from top to bottom.
Storing Tips
1. Keep them in a dry and cool place. Choose a room or an area that does not have much moisture, as hair extensions are not like your normal hair that can absorb any form of wetness. Excess moisture can cause matting, where the roots become intertwined. Removing the tangles can be difficult for you, and you may even damage your extensions in the process.
2. Keep it away from direct sunlight. The sun can naturally lighten your hair extensions’ colour. It is more evident for extensions with the following colours: coppers, reds, and pastel tones.
3. Store them in the Mindflow Box Provided when purchasing the extensions and make sure to moisturize them with your favorite serum and comb them from time to time to keep them healthy.
